Trump changes his stance and says Ukraine can recover territory occupied by Russia.

"I believe that Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight back and regain its original form," he argues.
U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday reversed course, saying that Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to win the war against Russia and recover the occupied territories, after months of trying to end the conflict.
"(Ukraine) has a great spirit, and as it gets better and better, Ukraine will be able to get its country back to its original form , and who knows, maybe even go further! Putin and Russia are in serious economic trouble, and this is the time for Ukraine to act," the US president said on the Truth Social platform.
The Republican made these remarks after meeting separately in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen .
With this message, Trump appeared to throw in the towel in negotiations with Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin, with whom he has sought to end the war in Ukraine.
"Having fully understood and understood the military and economic situation between Ukraine and Russia, and having observed the economic problems it is causing (Russia), I believe that Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight back and regain its full original form," he said.
Trump noted that "with time, patience, and financial support from Europe, and NATO in particular , the original borders from where this war began are a viable option."
Although the US president said he wished "both countries the best," he added that the United States would continue "supplying weapons to NATO so they can do whatever they want with them."
Trump concluded that Ukraine could take back its territory because, he said, " Russia has been fighting aimlessly for three and a half years in a war that a real military power should have won in less than a week," making the Kremlin look like "a paper tiger."
The president predicted that sooner or later, residents of Moscow and other major Russian cities will discover "the true nature of this war," including "the near impossibility of getting gasoline through the long lines that form," because Russia spends "most of its money fighting Ukraine."
