Digital platform launched in Colombia to access reliable medical information: connection with specialists and more
In response to the health misinformation circulating on social media and other platforms—a phenomenon that can cause confusion, spread mistrust, and negatively impact public health —Pfizer has introduced Pfizer Conmigo in Colombia, a new health literacy tool that promises to provide citizens with verified medical information and interactive tools to improve decision-making about their well-being.
The initiative is part of the need to combat the infodemic—an excess of unverified messages—and to empower patients to actively participate in their care process. “Health literacy is essential for patients to access reliable medical information and make informed decisions about their health,” said Ana Dolores Román, general manager of Pfizer for Colombia and Venezuela. The executive emphasized that the company seeks to “reduce health gaps and empower patients throughout the entire healthcare process.”
Main features of the platform
  • Expert-backed information: Clear, evidence-based content organized by condition and wellness topic.
  • Dynamic educational resources: videos, simulators, and interactive tools to answer frequently asked questions about disease prevention and management.
  • Coverage of multiple medical areas: cardiovascular, dermatological, oncological, respiratory, neurological, mental health, and healthy living diseases.
  • Accessible formats: downloadable guides and infographics that facilitate learning.
  • Connection with specialists: a medical directory that connects users with qualified professionals for consultations or clarification of doubts.
  • Newsletter subscription: periodic mailings with updated health information.

According to the ICT Ministry, "the digital age represents an opportunity for transformation; with the support of AI and emerging technologies, the country is positioned to move toward a more preventative and efficient care model, thus improving the quality of life of its citizens." The context supports the launch: a recent study revealed that, by early 2025, 41.1 million people were using the internet in Colombia and there were 36.8 million social media identities, equivalent to 69.2% of the population.
Pfizer Conmigo was designed to be multiplatform, allowing it to be accessed from computers or mobile phones, facilitating access in urban and rural communities alike. “We are convinced that technology can be a bridge to better well-being. With this update, we want to provide patients with a reliable and accessible resource that addresses their health needs,” added Román.
