Edelweiss resumes direct flights between Colombia and Switzerland: Bogotá and Cartagena will be connected to Zurich.

Swiss airline Edelweiss announced the resumption of direct flights between Colombia and Switzerland, connecting Bogotá and Cartagena with Zurich, one of Europe's leading financial and cultural centers.

Flights to Zurich will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays on Airbus A350s , with high standards of service and comfort.
The route, which connects the Colombian capital with the walled city of the Caribbean, is emerging as a key opportunity to boost international tourism to the country and, at the same time, provide Colombians with direct access not only to Switzerland but also to more than 100 European destinations through the Lufthansa Group network.
"With this route, we want to further open Colombia's doors to European tourism, offering travelers unique experiences between the Caribbean and the Andean capital. At the same time, we provide Colombians with direct access to Switzerland and all of Europe with the Edelweiss seal of quality," said Urs Limacher, the airline's sales, service, and distribution manager.

Edelweiss's return comes amid growing interest from the European market in Colombia as a tourist destination. According to figures from ProColombia, the flow of visitors from the continent has strengthened in recent years, attracted by the country's cultural, culinary, and natural wealth .
The operation will also have a positive impact on the local economies of Bogotá and Cartagena , benefiting the hotel, restaurant, retail, and service industries, while strengthening Colombia's air connectivity, a strategic factor for tourism and foreign investment.
With this reactivation, Edelweiss reaffirms Colombia's status as a strategic destination in Latin America and renews its commitment to promoting international tourism and global connectivity.
