For some time now, Bogotá has been consolidating its event offerings for all audiences. This is why it's so common to find concerts, plays, festivals, and fairs on the weekly agenda.

However, while the options are quite broad, in some cases, the experiences fall short. It is in this context that UWUCon was born, a convention where the geek and otaku worlds converge and which seeks to take the concept on which these types of events have been built to a new level.
"Our biggest differentiating factor right now is that it's a community-focused event, rather than one focused on filling spaces or square meters with brands. Our event is 90% experience, 10% brands. We want to have something happening all the time and activations all the time," explained Juan Sebastián Cárdenas, one of the convention's organizers.
Thus, UWUCon aims to be a space for all those who find in cosplay, anime, video games, manga, K-pop... and other passions of this style, a safe place to be themselves without any kind of filter.
"It's a celebration made with love for pop culture and with a heart for the community," its official website states.

The 'plus' of the UWUConThe event will take place on August 23 and 24 at Maloka City Hall , the capital's new event center.
In its first edition, the agenda includes activities such as live concerts with tribute bands and geek artists; talks and panels on cosplay, K-pop, gaming and creativity; and meet & greets with special guests such as voice actor Enzo Fortuni , best known for lending his voice to iconic pop culture characters like Arnold ('Hey Arnold') and Drake Parker ('Drake & Josh').
That list of experiences also includes immersive experiences, a cosplay and illustrator contest, and the After Dark Party, the first foam geek party in Bogotá.
Please note that the final schedule with the official programming will be announced on August 10. Tickets are $29,900 for individual days, $54,900 for the full weekend, and $99,900 for a combo for four.
