15th edition of the Play Bach Festival: the classical repertoire returns for ten days in Draguignan

15th edition of the Play Bach Festival: the classical repertoire returns for ten days in Draguignan

Several essential works from the classical repertoire will be on the program of the 15th edition of the Play Bach festival from May 13 to 24.

The City and Theatres in Dracénie, organizers of the festival, want to make it a popular event.

"We wanted to diversify the programming so that it would reach everyone," says Françoise Maurice, deputy mayor responsible for culture.

Several guests in the spotlight

The launch will feature the ensemble Le Concert de l'Hostel Dieu, who will perform Métamorphosis at the Théâtre de l'Esplanade.

Illustrated with videos inspired by the worlds of comic book author Moebius, this will be, for the first time, an "augmented" concert.

"There is a desire to approach baroque music in a sonic and visual way," insists Maria Claverie, director of Théâtres en Dracénie.

The Saint-Michel church will host the organ concert, Bach and Europe, presented by Jérémie Noyer, holder of the great organ which has been playing again since Sunday.

The opportunity for a musical journey through Europe by Jean-Sébastien Bach, from France to Italy.

The Opéra éclat, Musica Antiqua Mediterranea and the Ensemble Giocoso, in duo with the Camerata Vocale, will also be on the festival bill, "a hallmark of the city" , insists elected representative Françoise Maurice.
