“People don’t know how to do it”: to charge your electric car on the highway, ask the “borniste”!

Don't call him the gas station attendant anymore, but the "bornist": in Limours-Janvry on the A10, Nicolas guides holidaymakers and helps them master the charging of their electric vehicle.
By Matthieu PelloliA new era, and a new era. The electric era is bringing (back) an (old) automotive figure to the motorway service station: the gas station attendant, renamed "borniste" in the 21st century. At the Limours-Janvry service station on the A10 (Vinci network) heading southwest towards Bordeaux, at the TotalEnergies electric charging station , Nicolas, 30, welcomes "electromobilists." He is a borniste and originally from Mennecy (Essonne).
Sixteen high-power terminals (150 kW) are available and allow "you to recharge 80% of your battery in about twenty minutes ," says the owner. Nicolas, jovial and smiling, flits from one terminal to another in the language of Molière and that of Shakespeare, from one customer turning the ignition on to another turning off the engine. This car enthusiast has a front-row seat to enjoy the ballet of electric cars.
