In Buenos Aires, immersed in the euphoria of libertarian evenings in glory of Milei

On the occasion of the lifting of currency controls and the granting of a $20 billion loan from the International Monetary Fund, the Argentine newspaper La Nación immersed itself in one of the libertarian parties organized in a Buenos Aires warehouse. At these parties, where the "cultural battle" is at stake, Javier Milei's most devoted supporters pop champagne in praise of their president.

Drawing by Ramses, Cuba.

“Mandrill, tell me how it feels to see the cepo [currency control] finally lifted / The years go by, ticking, but you're still off the mark / On TN and La Nación, I heard your predictions / But it's all wrong, tough luck / And you cry like a coward / Your opinion, it's worthless, I don't give a damn about your bullshit / This fucking government is the best, yeah really!”

This is what was being sung on the night of Saturday [12] to Sunday [April 13] on the second floor of a sort of urban shed in San Telmo, [near Buenos Aires] in Argentina. The lyrics were written on the board and Santiago Oría, the author of the song “approved” by Javier Milei , was in charge of the atmosphere. Santiago Oría, the [Argentine] president’s appointed director and recently appointed director of presidential communications, was accompanied that evening by Macarena Rodríguez, Javier Milei’s photographer in charge of his communication on social networks.

These two “native liberals” from the Ministry of Communication and Media have been appointed to cover the fifth edition of La Legión, a libertarian party held every second Saturday of the month since late 2024, and the cultural battle that takes place there.
