Need a food truck for an event? Nearly 300 are gathered on the platform of a Toulouse-based manufacturer

In just a few years, they have proliferated in public spaces, in company parking lots, around concerts and football stadiums, but also at weddings and birthday parties. Between 2022 and 2024, the food truck market in France grew by 30%, according to a study by Modèles de Business Plan .
But, with their diverse culinary offerings and friendly atmosphere, food trucks are also increasingly in demand among individuals. Beau Comme Un Camion, a food truck manufacturer based in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), launched the Wefoodtruck platform in February 2023 to connect trucks with their customers.
This platform seems like a no-brainer today. Over the years, the Toulouse-based company has sold numerous food trucks and built a network of customers across France.
"We noticed that we also had a lot of informal requests from professionals and individuals wanting to connect with food trucks, so the idea for the platform was born," explains Lison Roche, Wefoodtruck manager at the company Beau comme un camion. "The core business of food trucks is to organize events; the platform allows them to be visible and allows customers to quickly find the right fit."
In just over two years, Wefoodtruck has already supported more than 800 events and referenced 300 trucks, present in more than 70 cities in France.
This is the case of Mecs au Camion, a company founded in 2014 in Colomiers (Haute-Garonne) and specializing in burgers. Since its inception, to cope with a highly competitive food truck market, it has sought to diversify its business.
"We've always offered our services for brunches, weddings, birthdays, and weekend business meals, even though that only represents about 5% of our business," explains Adrien Vergnaud, one of the two managers. "We've experienced more or less difficult times with Covid , and caterers have also suffered greatly during this time. There have always been curious people, individuals requesting food trucks because it's friendly, it creates a meeting point during the event where people can watch us cook, and it often appeals to a wide audience."
From now on, its food trucks share their time between public locations, private business locations, Stade Toulousain and TFC matches every other week, as well as three points of sale at the Halles de la Cartoucherie and two gourmet wastelands.
This search for diversification has borne fruit: Les Mecs au Camion employs 26 people and owns three food trucks.
