2026 municipal elections in Var: LR designates its candidates in major cities

2026 Municipal Elections , it's underway. The National Investiture Commission ( CNI ) of the Republicans, chaired by Annie Genevard , has just announced the list of candidates supported by the party in the Var towns with 30,000 inhabitants or more for the March 2026 municipal elections, Var-matin learned in a press release.
In Toulon , Michel Bonnus was preferred to José Massi , the current mayor who replaced Hubert Falco when he was declared ineligible, to carry the ambitions of the Republicans in a fight which promises to be close with the almost candidate of the RN Laure Lavalette .
In Hyères , Jean-Pierre Giran , the current mayor, is invested. The same configuration in Draguignan where Richard Strambio is designated, the same in Six-Fours with Jean-Sébastien Vialatte and in Saint-Raphaël with Frédéric Masquelier .
For Var towns with fewer than 30,000 inhabitants , the investitures will be granted by the departmental committee, chaired by the president of the Federation of Republicans, the president of the Var Department, Jean-Louis Masson .
