Six months after his death, Peymeinade will name one of its crossroads in tribute to Major Denis Chalumeau.

At the municipal council meeting, the assembly first discussed the desire to pay tribute to Major Denis Chalumeau by naming a public space in the town after him. More specifically, "at the crossroads located at the intersection of Boulevard Jean-Giraud, Chemin de la Petite-fontaine, Boulevard Général-de-Gaulle and Avenue du Dr-Belletrud," said the deputy, Michel Dissaux. "This location was chosen for its proximity to the War Memorial, in memory of his commitment to organizing memorial ceremonies. It is a tribute in keeping with his unwavering dedication."

The same deputy then suggested that the elected officials seek functional protection for the mayor, in order to assert his rights in court. He also sought a conviction against the author of defamatory remarks made publicly on March 8 and recorded by a bailiff on March 25.

The name of the perpetrator was not disclosed. Neither the context nor the content of the comments "made on Facebook" were revealed by the mayor, Philippe Sainte-Rose Fanchine .
