" This is an opportunity for France to bring its priorities to the international stage, particularly the fight against climate change and the strengthening of the economic sovereignty of democracies ," the president said.

Located on the shores of Lake Geneva, on the Swiss border, Évian-les-Bains already hosted a summit in 2003. The last French edition of the summit was held in Biarritz in August 2019.
