Jonathan Ross secret condition on Celebrity Traitors made him 'blind'

Jonathan Ross secret condition on Celebrity Traitors made him 'blind'
Jonathan Ross has revealed that he was dealing with a secret eye condition behind the scenes

Celebrity Traitors star Jonathan Ross has opened up about his eye condition, revealing that he was 'blind in one eye' at several points during filming. The TV presenter became the latest star to be banished on the BBC show, with six out of eight celebs voting to kick him off.

While Jonathan had been a Traitor the entire time, he has now revealed that one of signs that he may have been guilty was actually just him struggling with his vision during filming. Speaking on Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, Jonathan said that he went blind in his right eye on a few occasions due to an eye condition he suffers with.

"I genuinely don't like having things in my eye. I've got a slight eye condition," he said. "I went blind in my right eye a couple of times and it will happen again probably. It's only temporary but it's not very nice.

"That's why I was wearing sunglasses a lot when I was out there because I shouldn't really be out in bright lights for too long. "

He added that when wearing a blindfold at the start of the show, he was worried that his eyes wouldn't be working properly afterwards. "When that came off, it was like, 'Great - my eyes are still working.'

"I saw people online saying, 'He really overdid taking off that blindfold, that makes him a Traitor.' I go blind in my right eye!"

The cast of Celebrity Traitors made show history tonight as the worst-ever Faithfuls on the British show - having taken the longest to find a Traitor.

It took the Faithfuls six roundtables to catch Jonathan, while the longest it has ever taken Faithfuls on the civilian series is five.

During his exit speech, Jonathan didn't hold back - calling his fellow co-stars "idiots" in a passionate speech. "I’ve got no idea what everyone’s doing wrong," he said.

"I can’t believe you’ve done it again. I can’t believe that I’m standing here for no good reason I don’t want to be rude but - you’re idiots!

"I’m not judging, because it’s fiendish - I’m not blaming the players, I’m blaming the game.

"I am now, and have been all through the game, completely Faithful,” he insisted, as heads went into hands around the table, before he added: “To the Traitors!"

Celebrity Traitors continues tomorrow at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
