Harmonize is the AI innovation Photoshop needed.

Adobe has just announced yet another injection of new features for Photoshop . Needless to say, the focus is once again on artificial intelligence , with the Firefly platform at the heart of the software's evolution. Let's take a look at the new features, mostly introduced in beta, starting with Harmonize.
What's New for Photoshop: Harmonize and More The developer talks about innovations
that are the direct result of feedback from the global creative community and aim to break down technical barriers and offer smarter, more fun tools to use
. In other words, AI tools designed to further simplify and speed up the work of creatives.
Spotted last year at the Adobe Max event under the name Project Perfect Blend for Photoshop, it has been renamed Harmonize . Now available in beta on desktop and web (in Early Access on iOS), the tool leverages the Firefly Image model to integrate new elements into a composition, aiming for realism. It automatically analyzes the context, adjusting colors, highlights, shadows, and tones accordingly. Below is a demo video.
The new Generative Upscale feature (in beta on desktop and web) does exactly what its name promises: it improves image resolution up to 8 megapixels without compromising sharpness. It's ideal for print optimization or for social media managers who need to adapt content for different platforms. According to the developer, it addresses one of the community's most frequent requests.
Thanks to the updated Firefly Image model, the Remove tool offers advanced precision in removing unwanted elements from images. Improve generated backgrounds and refine the final result.
The new Projects feature, available in beta on Photoshop desktop, introduces an innovative way to manage and share creative work. It's designed to eliminate common problems like scattered files and fragmented collaboration by collecting assets in a shared, organized space, streamlining workflow and reducing errors.
Gen AI Model Picker for Generative Fill and ExpandFinally, the new Gen AI Model Picker (available on desktop) allows users to choose from different Firefly Image models (Firefly Image 1 and Firefly Image 3) to customize the results obtained. This enables greater creative control.
All the new features Adobe has announced for Photoshop are already available in beta versions on desktop and web. On the mobile front, an update has been released for iOS.
