Athletes celebrate in Grosseto
Damiano Ferrari was crowned Italian U18 vice-champion in the hammer throw. This was the verdict delivered a few days ago by the Italian "student" championship held in Rieti, which featured the athlete from Atletica Prato, coached by Alberto Tondini, among the competition's key players. Also participating in the expedition to Lazio were Iman Rida and Valentina Pinelli (coached by Claudia Vissicchi), Beatrice Nannucci, Camilla Maria Angelini, Elbenazar Ogemo, Delia Mongatti, Carolina Goti, and Claudia Santoni (coached by Cinzia Toccafondi, Fattakh Arifrulov, and Gabriele Palermo). Various delegations from the Prato club, more or less simultaneously, participated in competitions held throughout Italy. Good news, for example, came from the regional running and walking championships in Calenzano: silver medals went to the "cadets" Emma Cassioli and Beatrice Pancrazi, the "girls" Virginia Benelli, Noemi Pascale, and Sara Erraihany, and the "boys" Tommaso Pini, Giosuè Ugolini, and Alejandro Squillace, while the "cadets" Niccolò Cipriani and Gabriele Diodato placed third, taking bronze. The sector, directed by Alessandro Maccarani, continues to post encouraging results. The Prato delegation also performed well at the Italian individual "master" championships in Misano Adriatico: Renato Mammini won the Italian 100-meter title in the SM60 category, Antonino Nobile took second in the 400-meter SM70, and Stefania Dallasta and Mayo Banti each earned two silver medals in their respective categories. Giacomo Angeli took bronze in the 200-meter SM35. Lucrezia Nieri, Ines Grillo, Margherita Mottillo, Ginevra Nieri, Matilde Ballerini, Edoardo Parri, Sofia Innocenti, Lorenzo Tesi, Morgana Gnan, Francesco Carrante, Achille Esposito, Francesco Pio Bellandi, and Lorenzo Puccetti finally represented Atletica Prato at the Italian Junior and Promising Athletics Championships, held a few days ago in Grosseto. On this foundation, the club aims to consolidate and grow further, striving to increase its medal haul.
