Two evenings for Giovanni Panunzio, between memory and the fight against the Mafia at Lido del Sole.

On the occasion of the ceremony to name the central square of Lido del Sole after Giovanni Panunzio, a symbol of civil courage against the mafia, an important cultural event celebrating the values of legality, justice, and active participation comes to life.

The event is promoted by the ATAS Association of Lido del Sole, and consists of a series of meetings with the author between July and August 2025, with book presentations and testimonials of great civic and cultural value.

This program includes a special event sponsored by the Giovanni Panunzio Association – Equality, Legality, Rights, with two events dedicated to the memory of Giovanni Panunzio and the fight against organized crime.

The first event will be held on Friday, August 9, 2025, at 9:30 PM, the eve of the official naming ceremony. The evening's keynote speaker will be Luigi Talienti, professor and school principal, who will present his book "Beyond Bars," a moving work on the value of education as a tool for social redemption.

Closing the event, on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 9:30 PM, in Piazza Panunzio in Lido del Sole, Antonio Laronga , deputy prosecutor at the Court of Foggia, will present his book "The Rise of the Fourth Mafia." This direct and courageous discussion of the mafia phenomenon in Capitanata is also born from a bond of mutual respect with the president of the Giovanni Panunzio Association, Dimitri Cavallaro Lioi.

Two evenings of great civic value, to honor memory, raise awareness, and strengthen collective commitment against all forms of crime.
