After their December reunion after nearly twenty years, Quintorigo, featuring John De Leo, returned to the capital. On Saturday, July 26, the Romagna-based group stopped at the Casa del Jazz for the "Summertime" festival, as part of their summer tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of their debut album, "Rospo," which won the Targa Tenco Award for Best First Work in 1999 and the single of the same name, which won the Critics' Award at the Sanremo Music Festival that same year. Sounds spanning jazz, rock, blues, and classical music enveloped Villa Osio, thrilling the many fans who filled the audience in the park. John De Leo with his voice, Valentino Bianchi on saxophone, Gionata Costa on cello, Andrea Costa on violin, and Stefano Ricci on double bass also performed songs from their second album, "Grigio," from 2000, and from "In cattivit," from 2003. Their version of David Bowie's "Heroes" was captivating and intense. The live performance lasted over an hour and a half, with screams and prolonged applause. (Max Pucciariello)
