The Monti Dauni Library in San Marco la Catola reopens its doors and is once again available to the community. On Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 6:00 PM , a sharing event will be held to mark the reopening of the cultural center located in a wing of the Palazzo Ducale in Largo Amodeo. The meeting will be attended by Luigi Piacquadio , mayor of San Marco la Catola, and Gianluca Scaringi , president of the Frequenze social cooperative, which has been entrusted with its management services. It will thus be possible to once again visit the spaces of the "Castello," as the Palazzo Ducale is known in the village, and take advantage of the book collection and IT equipment available.
The Monti Dauni Library will be open on Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and on Thursdays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The aim is to encourage participation in various book-related activities and to organize cultural events. Among those who will immediately benefit from the availability of the space, which will also help revitalize the cultural space and spark encounters, will be the residents of Casa per la Vita Brecciolosa, the facility managed by Sicura srl welcomes guests with psychosocial and psychiatric problems. In fact, guests They had a tradition—when it was open—of organizing their Reading Workshop at the Monti Dauni Library, open to anyone who wanted to share their experiences, readings, and reflections. Through the Frequenze and Sicura cooperatives of the Oltre la rete di imprese consortium, in agreement with the municipal administration, they will work to enhance the Library and its book collection, contributing to increased opportunities for cultural discussion and sharing, as well as reading activities.
