Arezzo, July 12, 2025 – The third week of Orientoccidente opens in Loro Ciffenna with the now traditional "Concert on the River," one of the most fascinating and well-attended moments of the festival, now in its fourth edition. On Tuesday, July 15, at 9:30 p.m., in an experimental setting and a truly unusual location: the Massette stones on the Ciuffenna stream (in the area beyond the Auditorium), the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Loro Ciuffenna and Materiali Sonori present a concert by singer-songwriter Cristiano Godano . Known as the frontman of Marlene Kuntz, a band that has shaped the history of Italian rock music for over 30 years, Godano is a multifaceted artist: singer, guitarist, author, actor, and writer (his latest book is "The Sound of Anger," published by Il Saggiatore). He is the lead singer and songwriter of Marlene Kunts (over 130 songs), affirming the distinctiveness of his writing, characterized by a search for meaning and unconventional musicality. He is recognized as one of the few musicians capable of writing generational and programmatic anthems, blending rock and American influences with melody. His solo artistic project began five years ago with the album "Mi ero perso il cuore," a debut critically acclaimed for its poetics and musicality, performed in over two hundred live shows throughout Italy, and a finalist for the Targhe Tenco awards. This album established the Piedmontese musician as an intellectual capable of speaking to the hearts and minds of multiple generations, a unique voice in the Italian music scene that moves and inspires reflection. With his recent new album "Stammi Accanto," produced with Luca Rossi (Ustmamò), he adds an important piece to his career, driven by an expressive urgency that delves into the depths of emotion and confirms him as a key figure in the songwriting world. In past years, the "river concert" has featured artists such as Bob Corn, The Sleeping Tree, and Peppe Voltarelli. This year, too, installations and spatial interventions will be presented, inspired by the scenography of director Pierfrancesco Bigazzi, in collaboration with Alice Vieri and Mattia Calosci. This event aims to be a good omen and a commitment to environmental sustainability and to raise awareness of the challenging times brought on by climate change.
