Romagna folk music hits the dance floor. Here's 'Balera Verdemare'

July 18, 2025

Every Monday night in Riccione, dancing takes place at the Parco degli Olivetani. A turbo-charged debut.
'Balera Verdemare', the festival dedicated to folk and dance music, opened last night to great public acclaim. It will enliven Monday evenings at the Parco degli Olivetani in Riccione throughout the summer, until August 25th. A huge crowd attended, including locals and tourists, adults and the young at heart, as well as many young people, who came to dance or simply to listen and watch the couples dance. The stars of the first event were Anna and Stefano, true ambassadors of Romagna folk and liscio, who captivated the audience with a repertoire that ranged from waltzes, polkas, mazurkas, group dances, and other musical genres. Marina Zoffoli, Councilor for Neighborhoods, was particularly pleased with the new initiative: "'Balera Verdemare' is a precious opportunity for generations to meet: Romagna folk music confirms its ability to convey culture, passion, and identity."
The next event is Monday, July 21st with the Claudio Cavalli Band. Get ready to dance.
