Amirante, dialogue with other Regions on housing policies

"The meeting at the Conference of the Regions was particularly interesting because it addressed such important issues: housing policies, funding for rent and non-culpable arrears, and urban regeneration. The in-depth discussions related to national legislative proposals fueled a very positive dialogue with other regions of our country."
This was stated by the regional councilor for Infrastructure and Territory, Cristina Amirante, who today took part in the Committee on Housing Policies of the Conference of the Regions in Rome.
"Regarding funds for rent and non-culpable arrears, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region is currently able to guarantee full coverage. However, we are working with the Conference of Regions," Amirante explains, "to reactivate these tools, which were put in place nationally during the pandemic."
"The expectation was that this situation would gradually become less severe, and that consequently," the councilor emphasizes, "the budget allocated to meet these needs would also decrease. However, today we must note that, due to rising prices and international tensions, the situation has unfortunately not decreased."
"At the moment," adds Fedriga, "the 16 million euros allocated by the Region—8 million in the Stability Law and 8 million in adjustments—are essential to ensure, together with the contribution provided by the Municipalities, coverage of rent costs not paid by families in financial difficulty."
The topic of urban regeneration was also central to the Conference of the Regions' work.
"This is a very sensitive topic," Amirante recalls. "There is a decree law that establishes the general principles for managing these interventions at the national level, which must be harmonized with regional regulations and the previously approved land-use plans that provide for them."
"These are the goals and guidelines related to urban regeneration that," the councilor concludes, "we are regulating in Friuli Venezia Giulia through a comprehensive review of the urban planning law and the land use plan itself."
