Deadline for transition of vulnerable people to gradual protections expires

The possibility for vulnerable electricity users to migrate to the Gradual Protection Service expires on June 30, a regime that currently allows for an average saving on the electricity bill of approximately 113 euros per year per user.
Assoutenti reminds us of this, also highlighting another deadline still on the subject of energy: the new electricity and gas bill, a sort of "energy receipt", will come into force on 1 July. "Currently, vulnerable users (over 75s, recipients of social bonuses, disabled people, residents of emergency housing facilities) are around 11.8 million, of which over 8 million have moved to the free market, while more than 3 million are served by the greater protection regime - explains Assoutenti - Customers who, by 30 June, can ask to migrate to the Gradual Protection Service where the rates, thanks to the auctions involving the operators, are significantly lower than the other two markets. Once this deadline has expired, it will no longer be possible for vulnerable users to obtain savings on their bills for a total of 1.3 billion euros per year, considering the number of interested parties". "
Today we ask the government to intervene by extending the possibility of transitioning the vulnerable to gradual protections and setting the new deadline to March 2027, when this regime will end completely, as requested through an amendment to the Bollette Decree presented by Alberto Luigi Gusmeroli, president of the Chamber's Productive Activities Committee - says President Gabriele Melluso - It makes no sense to limit the benefits for the weakest users to June 30, those who should benefit most from the savings guaranteed by the Gradual Protection Service".
But Assoutenti also reminds us of another new feature that awaits energy users: starting next July 1st, Italians will receive their electricity and gas bills in a completely new format, with invoices that effectively become "energy receipts", easier to read and understand.
