Trump's tariffs have caused damages of 12 billion in Italy.

In Italy, such high tariffs could impact gross domestic product by almost half a percentage point and reduce exports by 20%, or 12 billion euros. This is a calculation by Svimez, the association for the development of industry in Southern Italy. Svimez estimates that 150,000 full-time jobs could be lost. It remains to be seen whether the United States will continue to grant certain exemptions, such as those for pharmaceuticals. Otherwise, the cost would be much higher.
Then there are the trade associations and research centers that draw up catastrophic bulletins.
Agri-food companies are particularly concerned. According to Coldiretti, this tariff regime would result in an additional burden of over €2.3 billion for US consumers and Italian producers. The CIA believes a trade war with the United States, which accounts for nearly 12% of all Italian agri-food exports, must be avoided. More specifically, the 30% tariff would constitute a virtual embargo on 80% of Italian wine, while the consumer price of Grana Padano could well exceed $50 per kilogram.
But the string of worried statements is endless. CNA points out that almost 90% of the companies exporting Made in Italy products to the world are micro and small, and another 90,000 companies are eligible to export.
