Urban regeneration Roiano, 10 million euro investment inaugurated

"A very crowded ceremony with many children this morning greeted the delivery to Roiano and Trieste of the completely redeveloped area of the former highway police barracks, a place abandoned for more than twenty years and in the past necessarily closed to the public. Today we are here to celebrate an urban regeneration project that is fundamental for a very populous neighborhood with no open spaces. Thanks to these multifunctional works, citizens are taking back this part of the city, destined to become a real green lung available to the community."
This was stated this morning by the Councillor for Local Authorities Pierpaolo Roberti during the official inauguration of the redeveloped spaces of the former Polstrada area of Roiano.
“We are particularly satisfied with this complex intervention, the process of which began many years ago. A work – Roberti underlined – characterized by a lot of public greenery, underground parking, play areas for children and a 60-place nursery”.
In bringing greetings from Governor Fedriga and the Regional Council, Roberti wanted to compliment the Municipal Administration for these achievements made possible by a total investment of almost 10 million euros.
"The main users of this area will certainly be children. The hope - added the councilor - is that our community will be able to take care of and preserve in the best possible way this invaluable gift for Roiano, Trieste and for the entire regional community".
Also present at the ceremony were the children of the “Tarabocchia” primary school and the “Isola dei tesoro” and “Delfino blu” nursery schools who entertained those present by singing “Ci vuole un fiore”, the song made famous by Sergio Endrigo which has lyrics by the writer Gianni Rodari and music by Luis Bacalov.
