More UAdec schools join Saltillo security committees

The faculties of law, social work, and dentistry join WhatsApp groups.
With the firm objective of strengthening security in educational settings in the capital of Coahuila, the Office of Security and Citizen Protection has integrated students from the Autonomous University of Coahuila (UAdeC) into the Security WhatsApp groups, thus consolidating a strategy for prevention and immediate response to incidents around the schools.
The new link encompasses the Faculties of Law, Social Work, and Dentistry, as well as the Institute of Sciences and Humanities (ICH) Baccalaureate, and is part of the "University Linkage Program," respectfully agreed upon with the highest educational institution and in full recognition of its autonomy.

During the meeting with students, Security Commissioner Miguel Ángel Garza Félix, accompanied by representatives of specialized groups and area directors from the Police Station, explained the advantages of this immediate communication network, which allows young people and teachers to report suspicious situations, coordinate with law enforcement agencies, and access timely emergency assistance.
For his part, the mayor of Saltillo, Javier Díaz González, through Commissioner Garza Félix, called for continued joint efforts among the student community, academics, and authorities . "Safety in Saltillo is the priority of priorities, which is why, together with Governor Manolo Jiménez and civil society, we are working to maintain our city as one of the safest in the country. We also invite those who are not yet part of these Committees to join the largest Citizen Security Network in the country," he emphasized.
Key topics such as accident prevention, especially those related to drinking and driving, were also addressed during the meeting, thus reinforcing a culture of responsibility among young people.
