Teuchitlán Mayor José Murguía Santiago arrested; accused of involvement in the Rancho Izaguirre case

The mayor of Teuchitlán, Jalisco, José Ascensión Murguía Santiago , was arrested on the night of Saturday, May 3 , according to sources from the Attorney General's Office (FGR), after some testimonies indicated him as being involved in the crimes at Rancho Izaguirre .
Just this Friday, May 2, members of the Guerreros Buscadores de Jalisco collective received authorization from the Attorney General's Office (FGR) to re-enter the property where the investigations are being conducted.
According to the searching mothers, this location operated as a training camp for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and possibly also served as a clandestine crematorium, although the latter was denied by authorities.
Murguía Santiago, a member of the Citizen Movement party, is the first public official to be arrested as part of the Rancho Izaguirre investigation .
