Hotel will create more than 5,000 direct jobs

The opening of a new Moon Palace hotel in Punta Cana later this year will generate more than 5,200 direct jobs , reflecting the impact tourism has on job creation in the country.
This was reported by Gibrán Chapur, CEO of The Palace Company , who revealed that they are making the necessary arrangements with the Ministry of Labor to recruit the staff required for this new hotel , which in its first phase will provide 1,000 new rooms.
He announced that the hotel is in its final stages and will begin operations in three months. He indicated that Labor Minister Eddy Olivares will recruit and train staff for this hotel in the country's provinces with the highest unemployment rates.
The businessman insisted that his hotel group has its sights set on the Dominican Republic, due to the growth that tourism has been experiencing in the country, considered the industry leader in the region .
Tourism Minister David Collado welcomed Chapur's announcement, which he believes demonstrates investor confidence in Dominican tourism .

He noted that tourism contributes more than 15% of the economy's gross domestic product and creates thousands of new jobs each year .
