Losses due to the blackout among the self-employed group are estimated at around 1.3 billion, according to ATA.

The Association of Self-Employed Workers (ATA) has estimated the losses among the self-employed at approximately €1.3 billion following the power outage this Monday, with a particular impact on the hospitality and retail sectors.

The president of ATA and vice president of the CEOE, Lorenzo Amor, has called for "transparency and accountability" following a situation that has resulted in "million-dollar losses" for the Spanish economy.

In a message on social media, he criticized the failure of the network that caused a blackout in Spain, which lasted nearly 20 hours in "many places."

"I'm sure someone will soon come out saying we need to pay more taxes , despite the fiscal hell our country is and the amount of taxes we pay on our electricity bills," he explained.

Furthermore, the Association of Self-Employed Workers has indicated that the amount of merchandise lost due to cold weather has yet to be assessed , so the figures could rise even further.
