Ariana Grande: Therapy for Young Artists Should Be Written Into Their Contracts

Ariana Grande: Therapy for Young Artists Should Be Written Into Their Contracts

In the song “No Tears Left to Cry,” written in 2018, Ariana Grande gives vent to her emotions related to a traumatic experience from a few months ago. A few minutes after the artist’s concert ended on May 22, 2017, a suicide bomb attack took place in Manchester. A 22-year-old terrorist from Libya detonated explosives in front of the hall where the concert was taking place. As a result of the incident, 22 people were killed and 800 attendees suffered serious injuries. The devastated artist stopped performing live for many months, and the first song, written after the tragic events in Great Britain, was supposed to refer to those experiences. “I only want to focus on hope and everything that is positive in life. I have no more tears. I cried them all,” is how the singer’s confession is recalled by the author of the song, Savan Kotecha. The artist’s words became the inspiration for the title of the song, which was nominated for several music awards.
