Budomierz: KAS seized almost 200 kg of refrigerant [PHOTOS]

Gas with an estimated value of over PLN 25,000 was detected during a car inspection at the border crossing in Budomierz.

Customs and Tax Service officers from the Podkarpacie KAS noticed a car with fuel tanks suspended underneath it, intended for the transport of natural gas (CNG).

The vehicle driven by the Ukrainian citizen was sent for a detailed inspection to determine the contents of the tanks. Four of the five cylinders contained almost 200 kg of gas in the form of a refrigerant (R-134A), with an estimated value of over PLN 25,000. The gas and vehicle were secured for further proceedings and a criminal and fiscal case was initiated against the traveler.

Fluorinated greenhouse gases are artificial chemicals that are very strong greenhouse gases. They are used in refrigeration equipment, air conditioning equipment, heat pumps and as extinguishing agents in fire protection. This is a gas whose import into the EU requires the EU Commission to provide appropriate documents
