Donald Trump Deploys Nuclear Submarines. Kremlin's First Comment

Russia has significantly more nuclear submarines in global waters than the United States, and the units that were sent to specific regions on Donald Trump's orders have long been under surveillance, said First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee Viktor Vodolotsky in an interview with the Russian news agency TASS.
Wodołocki, who serves as the first vice-chairman of the Commission for the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, responded in this way to Donald Trump's post on the Truth Social platform.
The US president announced on Friday that he had ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines in response to what he called "extremely provocative statements" by Dmitry Medvedev, deputy head of the Russian Security Council.

On July 28, Medvedev wrote on the X platform that any ultimatum Trump issues to Russia could lead to war. A few days later, the former Russian president suggested the US president remember "his favorite 'living dead' movies," referring to the zombie series and the Soviet automatic nuclear retaliation system colloquially known as the "Dead Hand."
The Kremlin comments on Trump's decision. "Let them swim.""There are many more of our nuclear submarines in the oceans, and they are equipped with the most powerful weapons. So let these two American vessels sail—they've been under attack for a long time ," Wodolotsky told TASS.

The MP said there was no need to respond to Trump's words. "We understand perfectly well who Donald Trump is. Recent months have shown that he can change his mind every 24 hours, " he added.
In his opinion, it would be more logical for the United States to continue its dialogue with Russia, including by establishing joint negotiating groups. "It is necessary to develop a fundamental agreement between Russia and the United States that would calm the world and end speculation about the possible outbreak of World War III, " he emphasized.
