Polish Airports (PPL) has opened the tender for the development of design documentation for the reconstruction and expansion of the terminal, as well as the reconstruction and expansion of the road system at Warsaw Chopin Airport. Five entities submitted bids, four of which were within the projected budget , reports industry website Rynek Lotniczy.

The portal reminds us that the operator of Okęcie Airport announced the tender at the end of June, and the envelopes containing bids for the contract were opened within a few days. Polish Airports has allocated over PLN 47.5 million to finance this investment.

The most advantageous offer was submitted by Dar Alhandsah Poland, whose bid exceeds PLN 31.9 million . This company is working on the Central Communication Port (CPK).

"Arup Polska estimated the project at nearly PLN 36.9 million, while PIG Architekci's bid was PLN 44.1 million. Estudio Lamela SLP proposed the project for PLN 46.1 million. Only the bid from the SK Architekci and AKE Studio consortium exceeds the planned budget, amounting to PLN 55.3 million," the Rynek Lotniczy website reports.

Warsaw Chopin Airport continues to maintain a high rate of growth

- Construction work at "Okęcie" should begin in the spring of 2026 and last until 2029. The modernization of Chopin Airport will enable the Warsaw airport to handle up to 30 million passengers annually, which will be the foundation (required critical mass) for an airport within the CPK - reports an industry portal.

As we have already reported, despite reaching capacity, Warsaw Chopin Airport maintains a high rate of growth.

- In July, the capital's airport handled a record number of passengers - 2,434,095. This represents a 12.5% increase compared to last year - Polish Airports announced in an earlier statement.

Łukasz Chaberski, president of Polish Airports, was quoted in the report, pointing out that over the seven months of this year, i.e. from January to July, almost 1.3 million 454 thousand people used the airport, which is a 13% increase compared to 2024.
