Homeowners will receive new garbage bags. Another waste fraction under control.

- The Lubaczów commune, like many other local governments, has problems achieving the required recycling levels.
- Therefore, the city has resumed quality checks on municipal waste disposed of by residents.
- Now every household will be provided with grey bags.
The Lubaczów commune government does not hide the fact that it has problems achieving the required recycling levels.
In collaboration with PUK Empol, the city of Lubaczów is able to improve the quality of waste collected each year, bringing it closer to required levels. Despite this, in recent years, it has been unable to obtain adequate quantities of waste for reuse and recycling. This requires proper waste segregation at the source—our properties.
- we read in a message to residents.
The company has resumed quality control of municipal waste delivered by residentsThe local government informs that, in connection with this, the company has resumed quality checks on municipal waste submitted by Lubaczów residents.
As the municipality emphasizes, "during the collection of biodegradable waste in areas managed by housing cooperatives and housing communities, numerous irregularities related to the quality of the collected waste were noted. Consequently, the collecting company had to classify this waste as mixed (unsorted) waste, and such waste cannot be reused or recycled."
The main irregularities concerned organic waste. Packaging materials, such as bags and plastic bags used for waste, were found in brown bins. Mixed waste and textiles were also found in the bins.
Please be advised that inspections are conducted throughout the duration of the contract . Failure to properly segregate waste or its absence will result in the initiation of administrative proceedings aimed at issuing a decision on an increased waste management fee.
- the commune appeals.
Residents received gray bags for the next fraction of wasteLubaczów has also taken other steps to improve the quality of collection. According to the office, since the beginning of July, the municipality has established a separate fraction for municipal waste from home furnaces, such as fireplaces and stoves.
Now, every resident of a single-family house will be provided with grey bags in which they will be able to deposit ash during the collection according to the schedule, as part of their municipal waste fee, without the need to increase the amount of mixed (unsorted) waste.
- informs the commune.
The introduction of separate ash collection is intended to reduce the amount of unsorted (mixed) waste, which is increasing year by year, which – as emphasized – may result in difficulties in achieving the required level of recycling and reuse of municipal waste, which by 2025 is as much as 55% of the weight of waste generated.
The commune also explains that separate collection of wood ash creates the possibility of recycling it - it can be used as fertilizer.
