Is October the New August? Fall Holidays Popular Due to Climate Change

Is October the New August? Fall Holidays Popular Due to Climate Change

According to the newspaper, this trend is reflected in the strategies of tourism companies. Europe's largest tour operator, TUI, is now offering year-round holidays in some regions (for example, southern Turkey). Meanwhile, Wyndham, which has over 8,000 hotel rooms worldwide, has extended its season in Greece from April–October to February–November.

The FT notes that in the Balearic Islands, the number of bookings in October has increased in recent years by up to several dozen percent compared to previous seasons, and airlines and hotels are adapting their offers, extending flights and the operation of facilities.

While it's difficult to say yet that August will completely replace October, the trend of shifting holidays to autumn is clearly accelerating. In the face of climate change and rising prices during the peak season, this could become the new norm.
