More severe storms over Poland. IMWM has issued alerts.

Residents of southern and south-eastern Poland must be especially careful – storms, gusty winds and hail are forecast.
The storms are getting closerEastern Poland can enjoy sunny weather from early morning – this is where precipitation is least likely in the morning hours. However, the situation will quickly change. As the moisture zone moves in from the west, clouds will increase, bringing with them rain showers, which are expected to become more intense with each passing hour.
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) has issued weather warnings. Storm alerts are in effect for most of the country, with second-degree warnings in effect for particularly at-risk areas, such as the western part of the Silesian Voivodeship, the Małopolska Voivodeship, and the Podkarpacie region.
This means not only rainfall but also possible storms with strong winds and hail. These phenomena can cause property damage, power outages, and traffic disruptions.
Heat in Podkarpacie and significant warmingAlthough the weather will be unpredictable, thermometers will show higher temperatures today than in recent days. Temperatures will be the coldest along the coast, hovering around 20 degrees Celsius, but significant warming will be felt inland.
In the southeast, especially in the Subcarpathian region, the mercury could reach as high as 27 degrees Celsius. Warm air masses flowing in from the south will keep the perceived temperature high, even despite clouds and scattered showers.
"After cooler days, it will finally get warmer. Temperatures will range from 20℃ at the seaside to 27℃ in the Podkarpacie region," meteorologists say.
Winds will be moderate, primarily from the south. This wind direction typically brings warmer air, further enhancing the feeling of pleasant temperatures, at least where storms are not expected.
Nighttime thunderstorms, but with improvement after midnightHowever, the dangerous weather doesn't end there. There are many indications that the storms won't end with sunset. According to forecasts, they may also occur overnight, especially during the first part of the night.
After midnight, however, the situation should gradually improve – storm zones will move further east, and in many places the rain will cease completely.
As for night temperatures, they will also remain relatively high.
“The minimum temperature will range from 11℃ in Podhale to 17℃ in Podkarpacie,” forecasters say. What do Level 2 alerts mean?
Second-degree warnings issued by the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) indicate that moderate to severe weather events are expected. In the case of storms, these may include heavy rainfall of up to 30-40 mm, strong wind gusts reaching 70-90 km/h, and hail.
These phenomena can pose a real threat to health and life, so residents of regions covered by the warning should exercise extreme caution. Secure items on balconies and terraces, avoid parking under trees, and stay up-to-date with weather reports.
Storm peak of the seasonJuly is traditionally the month when thunderstorms in Poland are most frequent and intense. Abundant sunshine and an influx of warm air from the south, combined with cooler air masses from the northwest, create ideal conditions for the development of violent thunderstorm cells.
The situation may repeat itself in the coming days – meteorologists predict that the beginning of the coming week may also be marked by changeable, stormy weather.
