Renata Kubiak has died. Ruch Chorzów is in mourning.

"It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Renata Kubiak has died today at the age of 68," Ruch Chorzów football club announced on Saturday evening. The 68-year-old, known simply as Mrs. Renia, was immensely popular among players and fans. For two decades, she managed the first team's magazine and remained with Ruch even when it was experiencing financial turbulence.

"It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Renata Kubiak, the famous Mrs. Renia, who took care of the Ruch Chorzów first team's warehouse for over 20 years. She died at the age of almost 68, " the club said in a statement on Saturday evening.

"We extend our deepest condolences to the deceased's grieving family, friends, the entire Blue community, and all those affected by her death," the statement read. Ruch Chorzów announced it would announce the funeral date.

Just hours before the news of Ms. Renia's death, a fundraiser was underway, generating a huge response. Marcin Waszczuk, the former president of the Movement, appealed on social media for support to save the life of the 68-year-old, who was battling cancer.

He added that Mrs. Renia and her husband Andrzej had worked in Ruch for 30 years and had stuck with the team from Cicha Street even in the hardest times when the club had no money for salaries .
