The largest tender in Poland for the purchase of trams. The interest is gigantic

- Warsaw is carrying out one of the most important tenders for European tram manufacturers.
- This involves ordering as many as 160 low-floor trams.

- Due to the enormous interest from potential suppliers and their numerous questions, the bid opening date has been postponed to July 22 this year.
- The tender of Tramwaje Warszawskie for the delivery of as many as 160 low-floor trams is gaining momentum, and the interest of contractors translates into specific changes in the documentation - reports the industry portal Transinfo.pl.
By 7 July this year, the contracting authority had published almost 300 responses to bidders' questions , introducing fourteen sets of changes and clarifications to the content of the tender specification (TSZ).
- The most important corrections announced by the Public Procurement Office of Warsaw Trams in July include, among others: postponing the deadline for submitting offers to July 22, 2025, 10:00 a.m. , specifying the requirements for integration with systems, changing the requirements for sound alarm systems (including extending the possibility of adjusting the volume and tone from the central application) - lists Transifo.pl.
In addition, Tramwaje Warszawskie also expects bidders to confirm that equivalent validators from Polish manufacturers are acceptable, as long as they meet the SWZ requirements.
No other Polish city is currently organizing such a large tram tender.The scale of interest in this contract is evidenced by the number of questions submitted - as many as 299 questions from contractors , of which over 50 were published in the first week of July alone. For comparison: previous large tenders of Tramwaje Warszawskie rarely exceeded the threshold of 150 questions
- The tender procedure concerns a framework agreement with the possibility of implementing up to 160 trams over 4 years . Not only the price (62 percent weight) is assessed, but also a number of quality criteria - including energy consumption, floor length, maintenance plan and noise level - we read in Transifo.pl.
The website reminds that this is the largest rolling stock order in Poland in 2025, and at the same time one of the most important tenders for European tram manufacturers.
