The PiS MP surprised everyone with his comment on Leszczyna's resignation.

"Today marks the end of my mission at the Ministry of Health. This was a very important stage in my life. Some of the results of my work are already visible, and more will come with time. Thank you to all patient organizations for being with me from the very beginning and for being a huge inspiration. Thank you to healthcare workers for our sometimes difficult conversations, for the dialogue, for your commitment and dedication to patient care. My dears, remember, health is the most important thing. Take care of each other, and take advantage of the 'My Health' program," said Izabela Leszczyna.
Although the politician was often criticized by the opposition, her departure was met with a surprisingly warm comment from one of the prominent Law and Justice politicians.
An unexpected gesture of recognition from the oppositionIn response to Leszczyna's farewell video, Janusz Cieszyński, former Minister of Digital Affairs and Deputy Minister of Health from 2018 to 2020, and current PiS MP, shared her post and added his own commentary. Although they represent different sides of the political spectrum, Cieszyński's words were full of praise:
"You took responsibility for a ministry that politicians consider the ministry of last resort. You worked until the very end, in accordance with your vision. And for your hard work – respect. Anyone who wasn't at Miodowa 15 will never understand," Cieszyński wrote on the X portal (formerly Twitter).
Miodowa 15 is a no-brainer address – it houses the headquarters of the Ministry of Health. Cieszyński's comment resonates not only with his personal experience with the ministry but also with his appreciation for the scale of the challenges facing its leaders – regardless of political affiliation.
New Minister of Health – Jolanta Sobierańska-GrendaFollowing Leszczyna's departure , Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda assumed the position of Minister of Health. Her appointment is part of a broader reshuffle of Donald Tusk's government, which aims to streamline the cabinet's operations and better allocate responsibilities. Sobierańska-Grenda is a well-known figure in the medical community, although she has largely avoided the political limelight until now.
Her appointment was announced along with the full list of new government members. The swearing-in ceremony took place on Thursday, and the first meeting of the new Council of Ministers is scheduled for Friday.
