The resident of Sulęcin had an arsenal of air guns. At night, he used them for nefarious purposes
In mid-February, the police in Sulęcin began to receive disturbing information. Residents of the area complained about a "night shooter" who appears in the area after dark and shoots people in the windows with an air rifle. He does not spare parked cars either.
The police got down to work. They managed to track down the shooter pretty quickly. They detained a 41-year-old man who had three air pistols, pellets and amphetamines in his vehicle. More weapons and ecstasy were found at the man's house.
"On the night from Friday to Saturday (21/22 February), the attention of the Patrol and Intervention Team was drawn to a passenger Audi, the driver of which had parked in a rarely visited part of Sulęcin. The officers suspected that he might be connected with property damage. Their vigilance was quickly verified by the facts," explains junior cadet Klaudia Biernacka, spokeswoman for the District Police Headquarters in Sulęcin.
The suspected shooter was detained. Incriminating evidence was found in his car. In total, the police secured five air weapons. The value of the losses is still being estimated, everything indicates that it will amount to well over several thousand złoty.
"The man was unable to logically explain his actions. It is not difficult to imagine what could have happened if the shot had hit a person . He will be held accountable for his actions in court, which may impose a sentence of up to 5 years in prison," adds Aspirant Biernacka.
