Marcin Dorociński recreated the famous photo session of Zbyszek Cybulski

To mark Zbyszek Cybulski's birthday on November 3rd, Marcin Dorociński revealed on social media that he had recreated a photoshoot featuring the "Ashes and Diamonds" star. This took place during preparations for the start of filming for a film dedicated to the legendary actor, in which Dorociński will play Cybulski.
A film biography of Zbyszek Cybulski, "How to Be Loved," is in the works, with Marcin Dorociński involved. The star of "The In-Laws" will play the main character. The script for the aforementioned production is written by Anna Świątek, who, together with Dorociński, runs the production company Salto Film.
During preparations for "How to Be Loved," a few years ago, a Cybulski photoshoot was recreated, in which Dorociński participated. Grayscale behind-the-scenes photos show the actor posing against a brick wall, wearing dark glasses and a coat tied at the waist. Just as in 1966, when Cybulski's photos were taken, the photographer was Tadeusz Rolke, a master of reportage photography.
"How to Be Loved" - when will the film about Zbyszek Cybulski premiere?"I'm thinking about Cybulski today with considerable emotion—about his charisma, his legend, and how much he changed Polish cinema and the way we think about acting. A few years ago, as part of the development work for the film 'How to Be Loved,' I had the extraordinary honor of recreating Cybulski's famous 1966 photo shoot by Tadeusz Rolke. The Master was once again behind the camera. Meeting Tadeusz, working on this project, talking about Cybulski, photography, cinema—it was much more for us than just photos, more than standing in front of the camera and pressing the shutter. Tadeusz Rolke passed away in July of this year. Today I'm thinking about both of them—Zbyszek and Tadeusz—about their view of the world, their sensitivity, and how much they left behind," Dorociński wrote on Instagram.
It's unclear when we can expect to see the final results of the work on the film about Cybulski. January 8, 2027, will mark the 60th anniversary of his death, so it's possible that the story of this undisputed legend of the Polish screen will grace the occasion. The film will tell, among other things, the story of Cybulski's meeting with Marlene Dietrich in Wrocław in 1966.
The actor died at the Main Railway Station in Wrocław, where he was hit by a train he was trying to jump on.
