Music World Cup in Warsaw. We know the participants of the 19th Chopin Competition

It's more than just a competition. It's a musical phenomenon that once every few years attracts the attention of the whole world. The musical competition starts in the fall, and Warsaw will once again become the capital of piano sound. We've learned the list of participants in this year's edition of the Chopin Competition.

You can listen to rock , rap or disco polo , but when the Chopin Competition starts, one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions for pianists in the world, every Pole becomes a fan of Fryderyk Chopin and classical music .

This year's edition of the event promised to be exceptional from the very beginning, due to the record number of applications . As many as 642 people from 54 countries decided to fight for prestige, fame, and money.

Unfortunately, as is usually the case, this group had to be thinned out a bit. Ultimately, the committee selected 171 artists from 28 countries, who from April 23 to May 4, 2025, took part in the Eliminations in the Chamber Hall of the National Philharmonic in Warsaw .

As we read on the website of the Fryderyk Chopin National Institute , the jury, chaired by Prof. Piotr Paleczny , selected 66 pianists who will meet again in Warsaw in less than five months for the 19th Chopin Competition .

19 winners of selected piano competitions also qualified for the Competition without the Eliminations .

In the first stage of the 19th Chopin Competition we will hear participants from 20 countries, with the most numerous representation coming from China , Japan and Poland , as 13 of our compatriots will take part in the competition: Piotr Alexewicz , Michał Basista , Mateusz Dubiel , Adam Kałduński , Antoni Kłeczek , Mateusz Krzyżowski , Viet Trung Nguyen , Piotr Pawlak , Yehuda Propkowicz , Zuzanna Sejbuk , Jan Widlarz , Andrzej Wierciński , Krzysztof Wierciński .

Two Russians , Philipp Lynov and Andrey Zenin , have also qualified for the competition and will play as neutral players.

What's next? The 19th Chopin Competition will officially open on October 2nd, and auditions will begin the following day. They will last until October 20th.

The winner of the Chopin Competition will receive a gold medal and a prize of 60,000 euros.

The competition winners will begin a world tour organized by the Fryderyk Chopin National Institute in cooperation with the Liu Kotow Agency .
