Loulé: Casa do Esparto presents a workshop with an impact on the circular and social economy

This initiative starts on July 14th, at 6 pm, at Palácio Gama Lobo, in Loulé, and promises to be a creative and, at the same time, inclusive experience.
Internationally renowned designer Jorge Moita launches the first edition of the living atelier – KIDD_CELL Krv Kurva Innovation in Social Design and Local Circular Economy, in partnership with Casa do Esparto, Associação DOINA Algarve, and with the support of Loulé Criativo, Loulé City Council and Alte Parish Council.
This innovative project aims to promote the circular economy and sustainability, combining fashion design, technology and social impact.
KIDD_CELL is a studio dedicated to creating circular models, using recycled materials, such as advertising tarps, combined with the natural fiber esparto, to develop sustainable pieces.
The project aims to empower citizens and stimulate civic activism, with a special focus on environmental and social issues. It also promotes the inclusion of vulnerable groups by offering training to facilitate their reintegration into the job market.
The project is also aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 4 and SDG 12, which prioritize quality education and sustainable production and consumption.
In this first phase, the project will work with a group of young people, in partnership with the DOINA Algarve Association, in Almancil.
The project will include practical workshops, focusing on the creation and development of sustainable products, and the presentation of a capsule collection that reflects the commitment to the circular economy and neutralizing environmental impact.
The pilot season of the project in Loulé will be called “Espat&Lona”. This project represents a unique opportunity to promote sustainability and the circular economy in the region, as well as being an example of collaboration between art, design and the local community.
Registrations to participate in the workshops that will take place from 15 to 18 July from 2:30 pm at Casa do Esparto , in Sarnadas and at the DOINA headquarters, in Almancil, are now open.
Those interested can contact Casa do Esparto (914 873 515/ 967 608 039), Associação DOINA (930 598 550) and Loulé Criativo (289 400 829).
