Tavira: Maritime Police seize 32 kg of amphetamines on Terra Estreia beach

Members of the Tavira Maritime Police Local Command seized 32.46 kilograms (kg) of narcotic material on Terra Estreita beach, in the municipality of Tavira, on Monday, July 7, which turned out to be amphetamines.
Following an alert, members of the Tavira Maritime Police were called to the scene and detected, at a depth of around three metres, approximately 30 volumes of a narcotic product, corresponding to 32.46 kg of amphetamines.
The Maritime Police, through free diving, seized the narcotic product and later handed it over to the Judicial Police .
The Maritime Police's Forensic Diving and Underwater Police Operations Group (GMF-OPS) was activated and, using a remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV), will carry out underwater searches at the site.
