VISÃO does not abandon its readers

Our main commitment, in each edition, is to our readers. Both to our loyal subscribers who have been following us for decades and to our most recent ones, whether in print or digital. This is how we view journalism: a service to our readers.
Despite the difficult times that Trust in News (TiN), the company that owns VISÃO, is going through, we want to continue serving our readers – those who, over a history spanning more than three decades, have helped VISÃO grow, consolidating it as a respected and credible news title.
Last week, as we explained in this space, we went to the newsstands with an issue that admittedly had fewer pages and a different structure than usual – in the midst of an indefinite strike by TiN workers, protesting against unpaid wages. We did so for two reasons: to, as we believe, “save” VISÃO from immediate closure, due to lack of revenue from newsstand sales; and to, in a serious and transparent way, demonstrate to readers the shortcomings and shortcomings of a magazine when it is produced without the usual commitment and collaboration of the entire editorial team. We openly wanted to show the effects of the strike and, at the same time, maintain contact with our audience.
The message was understood by readers, as demonstrated below, with some of the many letters and messages that have reached us in recent days. Among words of solidarity and encouragement, readers ask us to continue to respect the commitment we have to them. And they encourage us not to give up and to continue fighting for VISÃO and its role as a leading, quality media outlet.
We reiterate that there can no longer be unpaid salaries in the VISÃO editorial office. While we agree unreservedly with the premises of this struggle, we understand, however, that the solution does not involve depriving VISÃO's readers. Our first commitment is to them. And it is for them that we are here again, with redoubled strength and the commitment of many editorial comrades, to keep VISÃO alive. This is the fight we want to wage!
Solidarity I am a subscriber to VISÃO and JL and I buy both publications in print at the same time. I also buy Biografia and História. What else can I do to help save these magazines? We cannot sit idly by. A very special thank you to those who took charge of the magazine last week, although we understand the strike that others legitimately decided to go on. Sometimes, it is out of respect for those we serve that higher values are raised. And this does not have to be paid for. So those who are responsible for saving the best journalism should respond quickly and understand that without it, it is not possible to have free information. A big hug to everyone in this newsroom
