Dan Brown Releases 'The Final Secret' After 8 Years of 'Inception'

American writer Dan Brown, author of bestsellers such as "The Da Vinci Code", launched his new thriller, "The Secret of Secrets" ("The Final Secret", in Brazil), on Tuesday (9), in 16 languages simultaneously.

The work marks his return to the publishing world after eight years of his last book, "Origem".

"The hallmarks of Dan's books - which bring together code, art, history, religion and cutting-edge science - are top-notch, along with a propulsive storyline," Nihar Malaviya, CEO of Penguin Random House Global, said in a statement.

To ensure the simultaneous launch in 16 languages, including Italian and Portuguese spoken in Brazil, publishers and translators worked in secret and with strict confidentiality clauses to prevent leaks before the official date.

Brown, 61, is due to begin a book tour this Tuesday in New York, which will take him to 12 countries.

"The Final Secret" marks the end of Professor Robert Langdon's saga and is set in Prague, Czech Republic.
