Teatro Aveirense focuses on outdoor concerts

With this commitment, TA goes out to celebrate summer and performs at Sala Aberta, right in Praça da República. The first to take the Sala Aberta stage will be Expresso Transatlântico, on Thursday at 10 p.m. This performance marks a new edition of the Novas Quintas na Rua series, which brings the concept of the Novas Quintas series, presented monthly at Teatro Aveirense, to Praça da República.
Expresso Transatlântico is a band that combines influences from Portuguese tradition and contemporary global sounds. The project of Gaspar Varela, Sebastião Varela, and Rafael Matos has expanded into new territories and won over audiences across the globe. Their journey continues as they prepare for the release of the highly anticipated follow-up to their album "Ressaca Bailada."
On Friday, also at 10 p.m., it's the turn of the LES A LES project to perform at Sala Aberta. Combining electronic music with poetry, this project is musically directed by two well-known figures in the Aveiro music scene: Vitor Hugo (vocals, guitar, and keyboards) and Carlos Lázaro (vocals, keyboards, and percussion). LES A LES unites the machine with the word, in a symbiotic intersection, which incorporates the Portuguese language into urban and industrial sounds.
Through the Open Room, Teatro Aveirense "embraces public space as an essential part of its activity, defining programming areas and aesthetics appropriate to this context. In this sense, Praça da República presents itself as a natural stage, hosting projects that affirm their outdoor activities. It draws on the landscape, geography, and dialogue with the architecture and listed heritage surrounding the building to enable cultural creation and enjoyment," reads a statement.
