Three more arrested on suspicion of trafficking at Boom Festival

Three more people were arrested on Saturday at the Boom Festival for drug trafficking in Idanha-a-Nova, bringing the number of people arrested at the event to seven, the Judicial Police (PJ) announced this Sunday.
The three detainees, aged between 32 and 52, are suspected of the crime of “drug trafficking, when they sold drugs to participants of the Boom festival 2025 event, which takes place in Idanha-a-Nova”, says the PJ.
In these arrests, “34 MDMA tablets, 43 grams of MDMA powder, 30 micro stamps impregnated with LSD, 200 micrograms of liquid LSD, 2 thousand hallucinogenic mushrooms and 11 thousand euros in cash from sales” were seized.
The police operation was led by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Guard with the support of the National Unit to Combat Drug Trafficking, the Center's Directorate and the Scientific Police Laboratory.
The detainees will be presented for their first judicial interrogation and the investigations are being managed by the Castelo Branco Department of Investigation and Criminal Prosecution.
On Friday, the second day of the festival, four drug trafficking suspects were arrested in flagrante delicto.
At the time, those arrested “were found to be selling various narcotics, with 354 MDMA tablets; 53 grams of MDMA powder; 31 grams of DMT (a mixture of plant species); 18 “vapers” containing DMT (and 5 smoking devices); 325 micro stamps impregnated with LSD; 69 pyramids impregnated with LSD; 750 micrograms of liquid LSD; 135 tablets containing 2CB; 63 grams of Ketamine; 54 hallucinogenic mushrooms and mescaline being seized”.
This year's edition of the Boom Festival kicked off on Thursday and ends on the 24th at a farm in Idanha-a-Nova.
The 40,000 tickets put on sale for the Boom Festival sold out in two days and were sold to 169 countries.
The 15th edition has the theme “The ritual of dance” and the number of tickets on sale is intentionally limited, to ensure harmony between human presence and the natural environment of the 150 hectares of 'Boomland'.
The Boom Festival offers 21 programming areas and features 1,128 artists from 29 nationalities, with this year's highlight being a sculpture by Michael Benisty.
