Chinese filmmaker says Jeremy Renner threatened to report her to US immigration control.

Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou said Jeremy Renner threatened to call U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on her after she confronted him about his alleged "inappropriate conduct."

In a post published on social media, Yi Zhou reported that their first contact was in June 2025 and that the actor introduced himself to her by sending "unwanted photos" via messages.

"He convinced me of his sincerity, saying that he had been single for a long time and was open to a lasting relationship. I believed him, in the power of love and in the possibility of redemption," the director stated.

The two had a romantic relationship, and Zhou invited him to participate in two projects: a documentary and an animated film, which ended up resulting in more arguments and problems between them.

Zhou criticized the Avengers star for not promoting such projects and said that the actor had "used" her.

"When I confronted him and asked him to behave properly, to respect me as a woman and as a filmmaker, he threatened to call Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), an act that shocked and deeply frightened me."

Jeremy Renner has not yet commented on the allegations.

Indictment in 2019 and serious accident in 2023

In 2019, Renner was also accused of domestic violence by his ex-wife, Sonni Pacheco. The complaint was eventually dismissed.

In 2023, Renner suffered a serious accident in the US on New Year's Eve. The actor was run over by a snowplow while trying to rescue his nephew who was trapped in the snow with his car. He was in critical condition, with more than thirty fractured bones, and needed to undergo several surgeries.
