Moraes votes to prosecute a man who called him a 'Satanist' and linked him to crimes

Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes voted, this Friday 15, to accept a complaint against Bolsonarista Glaudiston da Silva Cabral , who repeatedly insulted the Court's magistrates and even called Moraes a “child sacrificer” and a “satanist”.
The trial of the complaint should end next Friday 22nd and will take place in the First Chamber, which also includes Cristiano Zanin, Flávio Dino, Cármen Lúcia and Luiz Fux.
Glaudiston is accused by the Attorney General's Office of criminal association and incitement to commit crime. The complaint alleges that his actions were part of the coup demonstrations that led to the January 8, 2023, coup.
The Attorney General's Office (PGR) says that Glaudiston "associated with hundreds of other individuals with the aim of committing acts that undermined the legitimacy of the electoral system and the democratic rule of law." The acts allegedly occurred between July 2020 and May 2024.
The first publication of the complaint against Moraes accused the minister of a series of practices, such as "black magic rituals involving child sacrifice." In 2023, a "complaint" filed by Glaudiston called Moraes and Supreme Court Chief Justice Luís Roberto Barroso "genocidal" and "pedophiles."
In his vote, Moraes emphasized that criticism is natural in a democratic system, but stated that the accused incited the Armed Forces to act against the Constituted Powers “and, with the same conduct, incited the practice of a coup d'état.”
“There will be no democratic state governed by the rule of law without independent and harmonious powers of state.” , the rapporteur emphasized. "Consequently, the defendant's conduct is extremely serious and, at least in this preliminary analysis, complies with the primary principles established in the aforementioned article of our Penal Code."
Glaudiston is represented by the Federal Public Defender's Office, which requested the dismissal of the complaint on the grounds of "lack of factual and temporal correlation with the acts of January 8, 2023, which would result in an impossible crime."
