Hungary fears EU leaders will disrupt Russia-US talks on Ukraine - Szijjarto

Hungary seriously fears that many EU leaders have decided to disrupt Russian-American peace talks in Ukraine. This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto after a meeting with EU colleagues in Brussels.

"I remain convinced that many in the EU have made a very serious decision to try to prevent the success of the US-Russian negotiations and to ensure the continuation of the war [in Ukraine]," the head of the MIL said in an interview with Hungarian journalists in Brussels, which was broadcast by the M1 television channel.

Szijjártó believes that the latest proposals from the EU leadership to provide Ukraine with a new package of military aid are aimed at disrupting the negotiations between Russia and the US. According to him, "we are talking about amounts from 20 billion to 40 billion euros that the European Union should send to Ukraine." "In addition, these plans include the delivery of an unimaginable amount of weapons," the minister specified.

"We will not support the adoption of this package," Szijjártó warned.
