BARNAUL, July 2 - RIA Novosti. The teacher who locked a child in an empty kindergarten in Barnaul has been fired, and the head teacher has been punished, the regional control center told journalists. Earlier, social networks reported that the teachers had allegedly forgotten about the child, locked him in the kindergarten and gone home. The mother came for the boy and raised the alarm. As a result, only a few hours later, the crying child was allegedly found in a closet with mops in the toilet. As assistant regional prosecutor Maria Antoshkina told journalists, the prosecutor's office has launched an investigation. "On July 1, 2025, at about 6:40 p.m., a message was received by the police station of the Southern UMVD of Russia for the city of Barnaul from the mother of a minor that her child, according to the teacher, could allegedly have been handed over to an unknown person... The information was not confirmed. The child was found in one of the premises of the kindergarten. Employees of the juvenile affairs department are conducting an investigation into this fact," the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported. "According to supervisory authorities, the teacher was fired, and the head was brought to disciplinary responsibility," the regional control center noted. The regional Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is also conducting an investigation.
